The main objective of building a geopark is to popularize the geosciences, promote the world outlook of materialism, and opposite the superstition. It changes the previous fairy—tale explanation of the natural into present scientific explanation. To the whole society, the geopark provides the base for scientific researches and knowledge popularizing; while to the youth, it is the best place to learn the basic knowledge of geosciences and enlighten themselves in the geological world. Hence, the establishment of a geopark is believed to be an important measure to advocate the sciences and break the blind faith in myths.
