From May 30 to 31, the project update meeting for the revalidation of Funiushan Global Geopark in 2018 was held in Xixia county. Chiefs from Nanyang Land and Resources departments, Luoyang Land and Resources departments and geological sites of Funiushan Global Geopark, leaders and experts from the technical supporting corporation and Henan Provincial Science Institute of Land and Resources, 50 participants in total, attended the meeting.

   According to the official letter from the UNESCO, two experts from Norway and Korea have been assigned to assess Funiushan Global Geopark from July 15 to 20. the project update meeting was held 50 days in advance. On the meeting , the plan of preparation work was announced and the concrete execution of the preparation work was arranged. It was also pointed out that the honorable brand of “Funiushan Global Geopark” wasn’t easy to get, which was not only the the honor of Nanyang city and Luoyang city but also the honor of Henan province even the whole country. Relevant departments should realize the importance of the assessment, arrange work intensively, organize well , deploy carefully and fully implement the preparation plans, ensuring the success of the revalidation.
