On December 25, 2016, the assessment meeting for Adjustment to functional zones of Nanyang National Natural Reserve of Dinosaur egg fossils in Nanyang city, Henan province was held in Beijing. More than 30 experts from various departments across the county participated in the meeting, in which the proposal of an adjustment to the functional zones of the natural reserve got overwhelming support. The adjustment mainly conducts in parts of the functional zones in Xixia Basin. The total area of 78015h㎡ is the same as before, of which the core zone increases by 1330h㎡, the experimental zone increases by 1403h㎡ while the buffer zone decreases by 2733h㎡.After the adjustment, the boundaries of the functional zones are more scientific and realistic. And the increase area of the core zone will make the protection work of the reserve area more scientific, rational and efficient, it also will solve the land problems of some major projects such as Menghua railway, Wanping freeway and Xixia county industry cluster district. Besides, the adjustment not only provides an effective protection of the life and objects in the reserve area, but also brings broader developing space of local economy, achieving a win-win result combined ecology with economy of the reserve area.
