Funiushan UNESCO Global Geopark Science Popularization Class Entering Zhiyu Psychology Studio

To promote the deep integration of science popularization education and mental health education, and guide teenagers to establish the concept of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature, on December 21st, the science popularization class of Funiushan UNESCO Global Geopark entered Zhiyu Psychology Studio. With the theme of "Secrets Hidden in Dinosaur Eggs", a unique science popularization activity was held, offering children a distinctive course that combines natural enlightenment and spiritual nurturing.

At the event site, science popularization teachers from the Geopark acted as "exploration guides", leading children through time to trace back to the dinosaur era hundreds of millions of years ago with vivid and interesting language. Starting with the interesting question of "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?", the teachers instantly captured the children's attention, then introduced the concepts of "amniotic eggs" and "amniotes" to help children establish a preliminary understanding of the origin of life. Later, combining the formation process of dinosaurs and dinosaur egg fossils, the teachers explained the classification and naming of fossils, the reproductive habits of dinosaurs, and the profound impact of geological changes on biological evolution in a simple and understandable way. When introducing the shapes, categories and nest forms of dinosaur egg fossils, the staff displayed a large number of precious pictures and detailed materials, allowing children to intuitively feel the magical creation of nature and deepen their understanding and love for the geological treasures of their hometown.

Different from traditional science popularization lectures, this activity innovatively integrated elements of mental health growth. In the interactive session, teachers guided children to think: the rise and fall of the dinosaur family is closely related to changes in the natural environment, just as human growth cannot do without a healthy natural environment and psychological environment. Children actively shared their understanding of "protecting nature" in group discussions, talked about the happiness and peace gained in nature, and imperceptibly established the awareness of respecting nature and loving life, and also learned to draw strength for spiritual growth from all things in nature. At the end of the course, teachers invited students to create paintings with the theme of "The Dinosaur Egg in My Heart", allowing children to put what they had learned and felt into their brushwork.

This attempt to combine geological science popularization with mental health education is of great significance. Nature is inherently the best "spiritual healer". Through this activity, children not only gained rich knowledge of paleontology, but also released growth pressure, stimulated curiosity and exploration desire in the process of exploring the mysteries of nature, and a seed of "harmonious coexistence between humans and nature" has quietly taken root and sprouted in their hearts.
