From April 22nd to 28th, the 6th Asia - Pacific Geoparks Network Week was held, with this year's theme being "Celebrating Earth Heritage and Strengthening Network Connections". To mark the 10th anniversary of the establishment of UNESCO Global Geoparks, recently, staff from Funiushan UNESCO Global Geopark entered Nanyang No. 2 Complete School and held a science popularization activity on campus with the theme of “The Secrets Hidden in Dinosaur Eggs.” This activity led children to explore the mysteries of ancient creatures, planting the seeds of scientific exploration in their hearts.

At the beginning of the activity, the staff kicked it off in a fun-filled way. By raising the question of "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?", they successfully grabbed the children's attention. This was then used to introduce the concepts of "amniotic eggs" and "amniotes", giving the children a preliminary understanding of the origin of life. Through vivid and interesting explanations, the complex scientific knowledge was made easy to understand. The children listened carefully and intently, with curiosity and a thirst for knowledge shining in their eyes.

As the activity progressed, the staff gave a detailed introduction to the formation process of dinosaurs and dinosaur egg fossils. They also told the stories behind the naming of dinosaur fossils and shared the achievements of dinosaur fossil excavation in China. When introducing the shape, classification, and nest morphology of dinosaur egg fossils, the staff showed a large number of precious pictures and materials, allowing the children to intuitively feel the magic of nature. The introduction of Nanyang dinosaur egg fossils made the children have an in-depth understanding of the geological treasures in their hometown and further stimulated their love and pride for their hometown.
