Release time:2025-04-14 Reading times:
From April 9th to 11th, 2025, Professor Zhang Tianyi, a renowned geological expert, was invited to conduct on-site inspections and provide special guidance for the 2026 revalidation investigation route of Funiushan UNESCO Global Geopark. Professor Zhang went deep into the hinterland of Funiu Mountain and carried out on-site investigations at key nodes such as Xixia Dinosaur Heritage Park, Danshui Town Geological Square, Baimiao Community in Wuliqiao Town, and Luanzhouyi Service Area. He put forward systematic suggestions regarding geological heritage protection, the excavation of popular science value, and the path of cultural and tourism integration, injecting scientific momentum into the optimization and upgrading of Funiushan UNESCO Global Geopark.
Professor Zhang pointed out that the revalidation route should, first of all, focus on core geological heritages and strengthen scientific narration and display innovation. Secondly, it should activate community participation to make geoscience culture and rural revitalization develop together. Thirdly, it should make overall plans for the whole - region routes and build a three-dimensional network of "ecology - scientific research - culture and tourism". He particularly emphasized that the overall design of the route must form a logical chain through theme connection.
The person in charge of Funiushan UNESCO Global Geopark said that they would fully adopt Professor Zhang's suggestions, build key nodes, and optimize the revalidation route. With the construction and upgrading of the revalidation route, this geological treasure spanning two cities in Henan Province with an area of more than 5,000 square kilometers is expected to become a new benchmark for telling China's earth stories to the world.
