In order to steadily advance the 2026 revalidation work of Funiushan UNESCO Global Geopark, from April 1st to 2nd, 2025, the Nanyang Funiushan UNESCO Global Geopark Conservation and Development Center organized and held a revalidation work promotion meeting. The meeting systematically sorted out the 12 rectification opinions feedback in the 2018 validation. Combined with the latest revalidation work plan, it held discussions with the counties, districts and relevant scenic areas under the jurisdiction of Nanyang and Luoyang cities. It coordinated tasks one by one and clarified the rectification tasks, time nodes and responsibility division.

The meeting carried out an in-depth analysis of the 12 rectification opinions put forward in the 2018 validation. Focusing on core issues such as "weakness in geological science popularization, insufficient visibility, and inconsistent management standards", it formulated a key attack plan to ensure the accurate and efficient implementation of rectification work. The meeting successively coordinated with the management institutions of Neixiang, Xixia, Luanchuan, Songxian and relevant scenic areas. Combined with the 2026 Revalidation Work Plan, it refined the tasks of each region.Neixiang County: Focus on upgrading the data display of Jutan Geological Square and Baotianman Biosphere Wisdom Center, and upgrading the science popularization platform of the Mashankou Fault Zone. Xixia County: Promote the standardized construction of the Dinosaur Heritage Park, complete the renovation of the parking lot and interpretation system of the 311 Scientific Research Line, and create a "geology + agriculture" demonstration site in Baimiao Community. Luanchuan County: Standardize the design of signboards in Laojunshan Scenic Area, strengthen the science popularization of the formation causes of Jiguan Cave, and improve the visibility of the Luanzhouyi Service Area. Songxian County: Repair the interpretation system of waterfalls in Baiyun Mountain, accelerate the exhibition layout of the geopark museum, and add geological disaster education points.

The Director of the Nanyang Funiushan UNESCO Global Geopark Conservation and Development Center emphasized that this revalidation is an important benchmark to test the Geopark's international management level. It is necessary to pool the strengths of governments at the city and county levels, scenic areas, communities and partners, polish the details with "embroidery - like efforts", and strive to show China's practice in the protection and sustainable development of Funiu Mountain's geological heritage with a "green card" result. In the next step, the Protection and Development Center will establish a special work team to supervise the implementation of rectification tasks and key work in Neixiang County, Xixia County, Luanchuan County and Songxian County under the jurisdiction of Nanyang and Luoyang cities, so as to ensure a high-quality answer in the 2026 revalidation and lay a solid foundation for shining the "world-class geological business card" of Funiu Mountain.
