March 22nd, 2025 marks the 33rd "World Water Day". To enhance public awareness of water resource protection, Funiushan UNESCO Global Geopark organized a series of promotional activities aimed at spreading the concept of water resource protection and strengthening public awareness of water conservation.

Funiushan UNESCO Global Geopark released a "Written Proposal " on its official website and WeChat public account for "World Water Day". In the initiative, it calls on tourists, community residents, and people from all walks of life to start from themselves and small things around them, actively carry out water conservation actions, jointly protect precious water resources, and contribute to ecological environment protection.

In mid-March, Funiushan UNESCO Global Geopark held the "Special Training for Wetland Ecological Patrol Officers in 2025". The training focused on the job requirements, duty norms and patrol scope of patrol officers, integrating theory with practice, aiming to help build a professional and standardized patrol team and injecting new impetus into the sustainable protection of wetland resources. Through a combination of theoretical lectures and on-site drills, the professional quality and business capabilities of the patrol officers were effectively enhanced, laying a solid foundation for better conducting wetland ecological protection and water resource monitoring work.

On March 21st, staff members went into the surrounding communities to carry out in-depth publicity and education activities. Firstly, in the form of a science education lecture, they elaborated in detail on the current situation of water resources globally and in our country, emphasizing the urgency and importance of water conservation and protection. They also distributed over one hundred copies of the "World Water Day Initiative of Funiushan UNESCO Global Geopark" at community activity centers, squares and other places to the residents passing by. Many residents said that through this activity, they deeply realized the importance of water resource protection and would actively participate in water conservation actions in the future, jointly protecting their beautiful homeland.

Subsequently, the staff went to the entrance of the university and distributed the initiative letters and other promotional materials to the passing students. The promotional materials covered the current situation of water resources, the importance of protecting water resources, and some daily water-saving tips, aiming to guide students to establish the awareness of cherishing water resources and protecting the water environment. After receiving the promotional materials, many students stopped to read them carefully and exchanged questions with the staff about the materials they were interested in, further deepening their understanding of water resource protection.

On March 22nd, the Service Center of Luanchuan Area of Funiushan UNESCO Global Geopark and the County Water Conservancy Bureau jointly organized a publicity campaign themed "Promoting High-Quality Water Conservancy Development and Ensuring China's Water Security" at Junshan Square. At the event site, staff members enthusiastically distributed carefully prepared publicity brochures to passers-by, popularizing relevant laws and regulations and daily water-saving knowledge, and advocating that residents develop good habits of saving water in their daily lives. At the same time, regarding the questions raised by residents about water resource protection and water supply safety, the staff patiently explained, popularized and answered questions, deeply implanting the concept of water conservation in people's hearts. This not only gave residents a new understanding of water resource protection, but also aroused their enthusiasm for participation.

The relevant person in charge of Funiushan UNESCO Global Geopark stated that this series of publicity activities is an important measure for the Geopark to fulfill its social responsibilities and promote water resource protection work. In the future, the Geopark will continue to carry out such activities, constantly innovate the forms and contents of publicity, and strive to create a favorable atmosphere of caring about water, protecting water and saving water throughout society, contributing more to water resource protection and ecological environment construction.
