Release time:2025-03-13 Reading times:
On March 12th, which is the 47th Arbor Day in China, the Funiu Mountain Global Geopark actively responded to the call for green development and organized its staff to go to Liaohepo Town, Wolong District to carry out a voluntary tree planting activity. In the current situation where the global climate change is becoming increasingly severe, reducing carbon emissions and protecting the ecological environment have become particularly urgent. This activity not only adds new greenery to the land but also serves as a powerful implementation of the sustainable development requirements of UNESCO, demonstrating the park's responsibility in addressing climate change.
At the activity site, everyone worked in collaboration with high enthusiasm. Some were shoveling soil with shovels, some were holding the seedlings and filling the pits, and some were carrying buckets to water the trees. After several hours of hard work, the newly planted saplings stood tall and proudly in the spring breeze, showing great vitality. These newly planted saplings will grow into part of the forest in the future and continuously perform ecological functions such as fixing carbon and releasing oxygen, regulating the climate, and conserving water sources.During the activity, the staff of the Funiu Mountain Global Geopark also popularized the knowledge of tree maintenance to the local people and publicized the important significance of afforestation for the ecological environment. By combining the short-term tree planting action with long-term ecological education, the public's understanding of the concept of sustainable development has been deepened, and they have also come to understand the importance of afforestation in dealing with climate change.
The Funiu Mountain Global Geopark has always been committed to ecological protection and sustainable development. Through carrying out this voluntary tree planting activity, it has not only enhanced the environmental protection awareness and social responsibility of the park's staff but also sent out a positive green signal to the society. In the future, the park will continue to adhere to the concept of sustainable development, actively carry out various ecological protection activities, contribute to increasing forest carbon sinks, improving the regional ecological environment, and addressing global climate change, help build a beautiful homeland, and promote the harmonious coexistence of human society and the natural environment.
