In the warm spring of March, everything comes back to life. On the occasion of the 12th "World Wildlife Day", in order to thoroughly practice Xi Jinping's Thought on Ecological Civilization, further enhance the public's awareness of wildlife protection, and promote the harmonious coexistence of man and nature, from March 7th to 8th, 2025, Funiushan Global Geopark and Baotianman World Biosphere Reserve jointly carried out a series of rich and diverse publicity activities for wildlife protection. These activities entered schools and scenic areas, and popularized wildlife knowledge to the public through science lectures, exhibitions, interactive experiences and other forms, achieving a good social response.

Entering Schools: Sowing the Seeds of Ecological Protection

On the afternoon of March 7th, the two sides jointly organized a science education team to enter Neixiang County the Ninth Primary School and carried out a unique science education activity for "World Wildlife Day".

At the event site, the staff  publicized the importance of wildlife protection in an all - round and multi - dimensional way through various forms such as hanging banners, setting up publicity display boards, and distributing publicity materials.

At the beginning of the event, the science education teacher played the promotional video "The Magic of Baotianman" for the students, showing the rich animal and plant resources, unique ecosystem, and the achievements of protection work in Baotianman Nature Reserve. Subsequently, Teacher Liu Xiaojing from Baotianman World Biosphere Reserve took "Interesting Animals and Plants Around Us" as the starting point. Using vivid, easy - to - understand language, combined with vivid pictures and videos, she introduced the peculiar plant phenomena in nature to the students. From the "carnivorous" Nepenthes to the "running" dandelion, and then to the "resurrecting grass" Selaginella tamariscina, one novel and interesting plant story after another fascinated the students.

After the lecture, the interactive session of animal and plant riddles carefully designed by the science education teacher pushed the event to a climax. Everyone rushed to raise their hands to answer questions, and the atmosphere at the scene was enthusiastic.

As the event was coming to an end, the science education teacher led the students to shout in unison, "Protect wildlife and build a community with a shared future for all life!" The sonorous slogan resounded throughout the classroom, demonstrating the students' determination to protect nature. At the end of the event, Funiushan Global Geopark and Baotianman World Biosphere Reserve jointly donated science education books such as "Baotianman Flower - Watching Handbook" and "Illustrated Book of Rare Plants" to the school, adding an "ecological window" to the school library.

Entering Scenic Areas: Conveying the Concept of Ecological Protection

On March 8th, the "Spring Ten - Thousand - People Mountain - Climbing Season" in Nanyang City and the Opening Festival of Baotianman Scenic Area were grandly held in Baotianman Scenic Area, Neixiang County. At the same time, it was the "March 8th" International Women's Day. Many parents took their children to Baotianman for an outing to enjoy the beautiful weekend. Taking this opportunity, Funiushan Global Geopark and Baotianman World Biosphere Reserve carried out a science education exhibition activity with the theme of "Increasing Investment in Species Protection and Building a Community with a Shared Future for All Life on Earth", aiming to further publicize wildlife protection knowledge.

At the event site, exquisite exhibition stands were set up, publicity banners were hung, and a wealth of brochures, books, and initiative letters were placed. In order to further enhance the fun and interactivity, a publicity slogan and a three - dimensional KT board photo - taking area were specially set up at the event site, integrating various popular elements such as modern Ne Zha, Ao Bing, and the county magistrate.

This science education activity attracted many primary and middle school students to stop and take pictures. They all said that through this activity, they had a deeper understanding of the wildlife around them, and they were willing to actively participate in ecological protection actions in future life and contribute to protecting the ecological environment of their hometown.

As the only World Biosphere Reserve in the Central Plains region, Baotianman has rich animal and plant resources and is an ideal base for carrying out nature education. Funiushan Global Geopark also has unique geological landscapes and ecological resources. In recent years, the two sides have given full play to their respective advantages and regularly carried out various forms of science education and publicity activities, bringing the concept of ecological protection into schools and communities and making positive contributions to cultivating teenagers' ecological awareness and promoting ecological civilization construction. 

This series of science education activities for "World Wildlife Day" jointly carried out not only enabled children to learn rich animal and plant knowledge, but also inspired their awe and enthusiasm for exploration of nature. At the same time, through the science education exhibition activities in scenic spots, the concept of ecological protection was conveyed to the vast number of tourists, enhancing the public's awareness of ecological civilization.
