Funiushan Global Geopark participated in the 2023 China UNESCO Global Geopark Annual Meeting

From October 31 to November 1, under the guidance of the Department of Natural Protected Areas Management of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration and the Department of Natural Resources of Shandong Province (Forestry Administration), Co-sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, the National Geopark Network Center, the Global Geopark Network Office and the Linyi Municipal People's Government, the 2023 UNESCO Global Geopark Annual Meeting was successfully held in Linyi, Shandong Province. Wang Qinghe, Director of Nanyang Funiushan Geopark Conservation and Development Center, led the meeting.
This meeting is the largest geopark conference held for the first time in China after the epidemic, and has been highly valued by geoparks and leaders at all levels. More than 200 people attended the meeting, including leaders of the Department of Natural Protected Areas of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, representatives of the UNESCO Representative Office in China, representatives of relevant provincial (autonomous region and municipality) geoparks, representatives of global geoparks and candidate global geoparks, and specially invited representatives of relevant experts.
Yimeng Mountain, Tianzhu Mountain, Xiangxi and other global geoparks introduced their characteristics and shared their experiences. Relevant leading experts made detailed explanations from the aspects of global geoparks standards and evaluation key points, existing problems and countermeasures in the current operation of global geoparks, and exploration of key points of global Geoparks popular science interpretation system, etc., to carry out the next work of Funiushan Global Geoparks. I have drawn the key points, expanded my thinking and strengthened my confidence.
