From June 14 to June 16, a group of experts from the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, composed of experts from Beijing Forestry University, China University of Geosciences and Chinese Academy of Forestry, visited the Nanyang Dinosaur Egg Group National Nature Reserve to carry out the overall planning site investigation.
The expedition involved dinosaur egg reserves in Xichuan County and Xixia County. The expert group has come to Xichuan County Shengwan Town Huanglongquan village to investigate the construction of field observation point, Xixia County Danshui Town geological square, management and protection station, dragon heritage Park to investigate the construction of nature education, video monitoring room and field observation point, microenvironment monitoring, and Yangcheng town Liuying observation tower to investigate the reconstruction of video surveillance tower. Through the investigation, the construction history, infrastructure construction and actual problems of dinosaur egg protection area were understood in detail.
At the general planning report meeting held in Xixia County, the expert group carefully listened to the effectiveness of the management and construction of the protected area and the overall planning, fully affirmed the overall planning of the dinosaur egg protection area, and put forward valuable suggestions. The expert group believes that the dinosaur egg protection area is a dense distribution area of paleontological remains such as dinosaur egg fossils and dinosaur bone fossils and natural remains such as representative stratigraphic profiles and sedimentary structures closely related to them, which has important protection and scientific research value. The overall plan has been planned in protection management, scientific research monitoring, public education and other aspects, which is based on sufficient basis, accurate positioning, in line with reality, and has strong feasibility and operability. However, dinosaur egg protection area is different from other types of protection areas, because it is buried underground and human activities are intensive on the ground, so it needs to be further strengthened in relic protection and community co-management.
