In order to do a good job in the 5th Asia-Pacific Geopark Week and the 55th Earth Day in 2024, strengthen the publicity linkage and interaction of sister parks, promote the construction of social science publicity, and show the achievements of global geoparks and development to the public, Forty-six geoparks, including Funiu Mountain in Henan Province, Danxia Mountain in Guangdong Province and Yandang Mountain in Zhejiang Province, and the Yifu Museum of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) jointly launched the 55th Earth Day "Friendly Sister Park Interaction" activity and the 5th Asia-Pacific Geoparks Week publicity activity. The main venue launch ceremony was officially launched in the lecture Hall of the Yifu Museum of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) on April 19!
This activity is organized by 46 geoparks in China to hold the 20th anniversary photo exhibition of Geoparks, the "Most beautiful Earth Mark" Geoparks photo contest, the World Earth Day science popularization knowledge game, the "World Geoparks on Stamps" punch card and a series of science popularization activities, and jointly promote through various channels to help geoparks enhance the influence of science popularization. Promote the dissemination of earth science knowledge, attract the public to care for the earth home, and promote the sustainable development of geoparks and other natural protected areas.

Global geopark
Global geoparks are selected by UNESCO worldwide for their geological significance, rare, beautiful and unique geological landscape, the integration of natural landscape and cultural landscape of natural parks.
The construction of the global geopark aims to promote the protection of geological relics and ecological environment, promote local economic development and solve the problem of mass employment, scientific research and knowledge popularization, improve the quality of the whole people, and make outstanding contributions to the construction of ecological civilization and local cultural inheritance.
Up to now, the total number of UNESCO global geoparks is 213, distributed in 48 countries and regions around the world, and 47 global geoparks are distributed in China, temporarily ranking first in the world.
