At the invitation of sister park Zhangjiajie Global Geopark, Funiushan Global Geopark participated in the International Seminar on River System Theory and Simulation and Zhangjiajie Geomorphology held by the Government of Wulingyuan District of Zhangjiajie City, Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan Scenic Area and National Forest Park Administration from November 14 to 15. Taking Zhangjiajie landform as a specific case, the seminar explored the diversity and formation conditions of river landform landscape and its response mode to climate change and human activities, so as to obtain suggestions and countermeasures of domestic and foreign experts on the protection of Zhangjiajie landform heritage and sustainable tourism. It provides important scientific and technological support for actively exploring and finding the combination and balance point of Wulingyuan tourism resource protection, environmental monitoring, disaster prevention and sustainable tourism development, and leading the sustainable utilization of Wulingyuan geological and geomorphic relics with scientific development.

The seminar lasted for two days, and the main content was the conference report, interactive exchanges, field visits, etc. At the symposium on scientific research, education and management experience of the Geopark, Yuan Tongyin, Chief of the Planning and Construction Section of the Funiushan Global Geopark, shared experiences from the aspects of geological heritage protection, infrastructure construction, and science popularization and education. Through participating in this international seminar, we will further strengthen the exchanges and cooperation with sister parks, and jointly discuss the management and construction of geoparks, the protection and development and utilization of geological relics. In the future work, we should continue to strengthen the protection, construction and management with a more open vision and more pragmatic measures, so that the name card of Funiushan Global Geopark will become more and more bright.
