The Administration Bureau of Nanyang Funiushan Geopark organized staff members to attend the online meeting

On the morning of April 13, the Tourism Geoscience and Geoparks Research Branch of the Geological Society of China held a symposium on the development of Tourism Geoscience in the second conference room of the main building of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences in Beijing. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference was held online and offline.
The conference was attended online by 287 participants from 99 organizations. The contents of the conference include: 1. Review of the development history of tourism geosciences and geoparks. 2. Research achievements and prospects of tourism geosciences teaching; 3. Discussions on 2022 Key Work Plans for Tourism Geoscience and Geopark Research Branch. At the beginning of the meeting, Yuan Xiaohong (Director of the Department of Natural Protected Areas Management of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration), Jiang Jianjun (former Director of the Department of Geology and Environment of the Ministry of Land and Resources), Jin Xiaochi (Vice president of the UGGp Board) and other leaders made speeches. Professors from 6 universities including China University of Geosciences, East China University of Technology and so on, 13 experts in tourism geoscience research, leaders of 5 global geopark management agencies were specially invited to deliver speeches at the meeting.
The Administration Bureau of Nanyang Funiushan Geopark actively organized staff members to take part in the meeting. The meeting, which lasted until 12:45 p.m., gave directions on how to carry out science popularization education and scientific research, how to better establish geopark, protect geological relics and rationally develop them, and how to promote sustainable social and economic development of the region in the face of continuous epidemic in China.
