On April 12, the Administration Bureau of Funiushan Geopark held a meeting on the 2022 management work. Director and Deputy Director of National Nature Reserve Administration of Xixia Dinosaur Egg Fossil Group, director of Xichuan Geopark Service Center, director of Neixiang Forestry Bureau and Zhenping Forestry Bureau, leaders of Xixia Dinosaur Relics Park, Laojieling Scenic Area, Neixiang Local Magistrate’s Office Museum, Baotianman Scenic Area, all staff members of the geopark bureau and other relevant people attended the meeting.

After listening to the work reports of each scenic area, Fang Cheng, director of the bureau, summarized and reviewed the work of geopark management in 2021, analyzed the facing complex situation on the current work, discussed and exchanged new ideas and new methods to solve the difficulties in the current work, and identified six major goals and tasks for 2022. First, we should focus on the preparatory work for the reevaluation; second, we should focus on the project acquisition and implementation, and take the project acquisition as an important starting point to improve the level of construction and management of the protected area; Third, we should enhance the level of science popularization and education, strengthen mutual communication and learning, and gradually enhance the attraction and integration of geopark; Fourth, we should strengthen the examination and approval of construction projects in the protected areas, and actively serve the local and social sustainable development while protecting the paleontological relics; Fifth, we will continue to strengthen the “Green Shield” and “Green Sword” activities, strengthen supervision, and resolutely prevent new illegal construction projects; Sixth, we should focus on strengthening the construction of geopark itself and comprehensively improve the ability and levels of management team.
