A geopark is a special natural area with multifunction effects. It has special scientific significance, rare naturalness and high aesthetics, mainly including a certain scope of geological vestiges, structural landscapes, some natural and humanism landscapes.
Geological vestiges are kinds of typical geological landscapes, which are formed by the exogenetic force and the exogenetic force from the geological effects during the long period of the geological evolution. The important geological vestiges are precious natural heritages, and also non-renewable natural resources. They are the rare treasures of human beings and the essential parts of the natural ecosystem as well.
