For the upcoming International Geodiversity Day and International Day for Disaster Reduction, the Nanyang Forestry Administration and the Funiushan UNESCO Global Geopark Protection and Development Center jointly carried out a public welfare campaign themed on "Protecting Geodiversity and Building a Solid Defense Line Against Disasters" on September 28. At the event site, more than 100 handbags and 100 publicity brochures were distributed respectively.

The main venue of the activity was set at the crowded bus stop of Nanyang Institute of Technology, to maximize the campaign’s reach by utilizing the concentration of young people and the rapid spread of information in university surroundings. Through the accurate positioning of the target audience, the publicity campaign near the university campus can more effectively popularize knowledge about geodiversity and disaster prevention and reduction among the younger generation, so as to cultivate their awareness of disaster prevention and reduction as well as safety literacy. In addition to the centralized publicity at the main venue, the campaign extended its impact to other core areas of the city. Publicity and exhibition activities were also carried out for one month at three other important bus stops, namely the Municipal Public Service Center, Meixi Road Intersection and the Municipal Government, which cover the main daily travel routes of citizens, ensuring that the publicity information can reach a wider range of social groups, from students to office workers and then to government staff. This multi-dimensional and all-round information coverage laid a solid mass foundation for building a disaster prevention and reduction system with universal participation.
