October 9-15, 2024, Funiushan Global Geopark sent representatives to participate in the 8th UNESCO Global Geopark Management and Development Training Course held in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hunan. Members of UNESCO and representatives of geoparks from China, Saudi Arabia, Mongolia and other countries gathered in the Xiangxi Global Geopark to learn from the experience of global geopark operation and management. 

It is reported that the UNESCO Global Geopark Management and Development Training Course is authorized by the UNESCO Global Geopark Secretariat and entrusted to the Aegean University in Greece and the China University of Geosciences (Beijing) to organize the Global Geopark Management Capacity Improvement. Since 2016, our country has held 7 traini, it is the specific practice of the UNESCO Global Geopark brand in China and is highly praised and valued by UNESCO.

With the theme of "UNESCO Global Geoparks and Sustainable Development", the training invited the UNESCO Global Geoparks Council, the Executive Board of the Global Geoparks Network and famous domestic global Geoparks experts to be lecturers. The training included expert explanation, problem analysis and field visits.

Through this training course, the participants of Funiushan Global Geoparks have a deep understanding of the construction concept of global Geoparks. During the training, they have established friendly and cooperative relations with many parks such as Jingpo Lake, Keshketen, Hong Kong and Dabie Mountain.
